Some skills naturally overlap, so the same Playbook may be part of more than one Track. For example, a Playbook that helps you handle a difficult conversation could be relevant to both communication and assertiveness. It's still the same Playbook — your progress carries with you, so you don't have to complete it again if you encounter it in another Track.

So, even when two people choose the same Playbook, their journeys don't have to begin or unfold in the same way.

How many Sessions does it take to complete a Playbook?

Most Playbooks are designed to take roughly 8–16 Sessions, but there isn't a fixed number that everyone needs to complete.

Your Playbook adapts to your starting point, how you respond during practice, the progress you demonstrate, and what you may still need to work on. Some people may move through certain parts more quickly, while others may benefit from additional practice or reinforcement before moving forward.

A Playbook is completed when you have earned all of its Markers — not simply when you have finished a set number of Sessions. The Markers represent meaningful stages of progress and help Goonj determine when you are ready to complete your Playbook.

Markers aren't awarded simply for completing a certain number of Sessions. They are earned through the progress you demonstrate along the way, with the final Marker representing completion of your Playbook.

So, a Marker doesn't just show how far you have gone. It shows how you have grown along the way.

What are Real-World Activities, and why are they important?

Real-World Activities help you take what you are working on in a Session and try it where it actually matters, in your real life.

A Session may prepare you for a specific action, response, or behavior, and a Real-World Activity gives you an opportunity to put it into practice outside Goonj.

When you return, Goonj can ask you about what happened, what you tried, how it went, what felt different, and where you still struggled. That experience becomes part of your journey and can influence what you work on in future Sessions.

Real-World Activities also contribute to your progress and the evidence used to earn Markers. This means your progress isn't based only on how you perform inside Goonj, but also on how your learning begins to show up in real situations.

Sessions help you prepare and practice. Real-World Activities help you put it into action. Markers help show that the change is taking hold.

What is a Badge, and how do I earn one?

A Badge represents the completion of a Playbook and the transformation you have worked towards. You earn it after completing all the Markers required for that Playbook.

Unlike a reward for simply finishing a set number of Sessions, your Badge represents the progress you have demonstrated through your journey, including your practice, Real-World Activities, and the evidence you have built along the way.

Once you have earned the final Marker, your Playbook is complete and its Badge becomes part of your Goonj journey, a reminder of what you have worked on and how far you have come.

Markers show your progress along the way. Your Badge marks the transformation that you have completed.
